OnlyFans- A Long Q & A Blog
Buckle up.
I wanted to touch on a hot topic that everyone has been talking about for the last few months. I’m sure you have heard of OnlyFans, which is described by the site itself as “a very powerful and useful tool for YouTubers, fitness trainers, models, content creators, public figures and influencers.” You can literally post any kind of content.
However, the site has quickly gained traction in both the adult entertainment industry and the modeling industry. It is a game changer financially for some models. Imagine earning financial freedom from the comfort of your couch. Some people are torn, though, as I’m sure you heard about the Honda employee who was fired for having an account on the platform. Not everyone is gung ho for it.
On the plus side I have heard a number of great things about it. It can be good side money, and content creators finally have the freedom to post their uncensored shots and make money off of them since Instagram still won’t free the nipples.
I wanted to get some information and opinions from people who are actually using the site though, so that’s what the blog is about. I’m hoping that it will provide a bit of insight into what the platform is and how it works for any model who is considering making an account.
As an unbiased party (I don’t have an OnlyFans) I asked a few models some questions that I thought people might be wondering.
For the safety of the models I spoke to, they will all remain anonymous. Their answers have been randomized for their privacy. Thank you to everyone who took the time to answer my questions!
Now, let’s get down to business.
Q: How long have you had your account?
A: January 2020.
A: 7 Months.
A: About 4 months.
A: A little over month.
A: 1 year.
Q: What prompted you to make an OnlyFans?
A: I wanted to be able to share my work with people that I normally can't share on regular social media. Give fans a chance to see work before anyone else.
A: I was looking for a way to make money during the pandemic after losing my normal job.
A: I needed to pay for my Masters degree in Biostatistics.
A: I already posted more explicit content on IG, so I thought why not post that on OnlyFans and make a profit out of it.
A: A lot of interest on my profiles and I just felt like it.
Q: What kind of content do you post?
A: Uncensored work. Never before seen work. Behind the scenes from shoots.
A: Implied, nude, and custom porn content if people ask for it. Fetish work.
A: Just topless content. Videos and pictures. I do custom content at request.
A: Anything from boudoir shoots to full on pornography.
A: I post sexy photos/videos. They are nude.
Q: How much time does it require weekly to create content?
A: Depends on you. Some girls post everyday several times a day, some girls post once in awhile.
A: 1-2 hours every other day.
A: I would say I put in as much time as I would in a full time job.
A: About once a week.
A: It seriously feels like a full time gig.
Q: Do you think it is worth what it pays?
A: Yes absolutely. I completely control what I sell and how much I sell it for.
A: Yes, you just need to sell things for a high price and stick to that.
A: 100%. It’s paying for my school.
A: 100% yes. But you have to be willing to put in the work for the money.
Q: Do you publicly advertise your OF under your real name?
A: Yes I do. But I use my middle name not my last name.
A: Not in a million years, LOL.
A: I didn’t until recently make it public and I saw a DRASTIC change of followers some I know, LOL, but whatever, I don’t care anymore.
A: No.
A: Somewhat. I did create separate accounts on social media to promote it more heavily
Q: If your OnlyFans is composed of adult content, have you previously worked in the adult entertainment field?
A: Yep! I’ve been exotic dancing for about 4 years now.
A: Briefly. I wouldn’t call myself a professional though.
Q: Does OF have a long model agreement? Have you read the whole thing?
A: Yes and Yes.
A: No, I have not read the agreement. Probably sketch but honestly I’m not scared or afraid of nudity or of my content being leaked.
A: Yes it does & yes I did.
A: Honestly I haven’t, LOL. All I know is they take 20 percent of your earnings and you fill out a W2.
Q: Does the site protect your personal information?
A: Yes they do!
A: As far as I know I’m protected but who really knows with the internet these days.
*For anyone who is curious, you can find OnlyFans privacy policy HERE.
Q: Is your content amateur (self produced at home) or professional (you work with photographers)?
A: Both. My boyfriend and I do a lot at home but I also have some photographer friends who have done some shoots with me.
A: Totally amateur. Lot of selfies.
A: Both. But I’ve come to realize guys (people who are paying to subscribe) don’t care if it’s professional or not.
Q: Do you feel that you would be safe if a “fan” were to become obsessive and try to find you outside of the site?
A: Yes. The site has ways to block and report people like other social media sites.
A: I hope so. But I’m not sure?
A: Yes because I take extra precautions to prevent that.
A: I have had some (fans) message me on IG and I’m okay with that. I just redirect them to only fans. Luckily nothing has gotten “stalkerish” where my personal information (like home address or phone) have been leaked.
Q: If you work with photographers for your content, do you ask to limit what they can post on their own OnlyFans? Or can they post full uncensored content that they have of you without your approval first?
A: It’s a case by case instance. If it’s a shoot I pay for specifically my OnlyFans I would prefer them to post minimal amounts then.
A: None of the photographers are doing it for their sites- only mine. So I don’t know.
A: Photographers should ALWAYS ask if they can post content of you.
Q: What are some of the things you like about the site?
A: You can post literally whatever content you want.
A: I like how easy the site is to use and navigate it also shows great statistical data on what works to post. And what doesn’t.
A: That you can build your own platform. You can use it for whatever types of content you want. There's no limit to what you can post.
A: I can have a list of posts that will post at exact time I need them to if I’m out of town or something. I can set prices to messages for the BEST of the best content. There’s so many features that are great for content creators.
Q: What are some things you dislike about the site?
A: They take 20% of your earnings, which is a lot in my opinion. I'd rather pay a monthly fee.
A: I dislike how long it takes to receive my money. It’s frustrating to see money pending for weeks.
A: The wait times for your money. It takes a week to the minute for it to clear then another 2-3 days to hit your bank account.
A: The site needs a facelift and an app. It’s a little hard to understand at first, but once you browse through it it’s a little easier to navigate.
A: 20% seems like a large portion of your earnings that they take.
Q: What would you say to anyone thinking about making an OnlyFans to post uncensored content?
A: You can post whatever content you feel most comfortable with. It does not need to be nude. But going in to having an OnlyFans you need to have thick skin. People might and will probably talk negatively about it and you. What if someone posts your content and it gets leaked? You need to be prepared for that. What if your family finds out? Be prepared for all the negative situations. Never give out deals because then everyone wants one. If the cost of that video is $20 then it’s $20. Don’t sell yourself short. You just can’t give a fuck really. Just be confident.
A: Be sure that you are ready for repercussions. Not everyone will understand your hustle or be okay with your decision. Just know it’s YOUR body, your choice, and you can stop whenever.
A: You are in control of what you are selling. Don’t make anything that you aren’t comfortable with people finding out about. People will find out. Especially if you are posting your OnlyFans link on social media to get followers.
A: Only do it if you are comfortable with it. People will find out. Don’t let people pressure you into posting things you aren’t comfortable. Also, charge whatever you want! People WILL pay. Don’t let people make you sell yourself short.
A: I would recommend it. It's very easy to stop and deactivate if it isn't for you.
